Belonging

I am lingering in this, the small window of quiet time before afternoon feeding begins, watching the day say good-bye. As soon as I stand up and walk with purpose, the dogs will gather to hurtle themselves out the door, trying to beat each other to the gate. There is so much motion and noise and activity in the day, but there are also these moments where horses graze peacefully in the dusky light and dogs lie quietly at your feet, steeping in our sense of belonging. I wish you all a deep sense of belonging, my friends. Happy Sunday.

Day 24

Writing about what sings to me from a life made full with animals.
